In our case that me actually stands in for a we because anGan is Angelika & Rudy. Angelika from Germany and Rudy from The Netherlands. Thus anGan is a German-Dutch association which began in March 2004 due to our common interest of collecting Kinder Surprise Eggs contents, a coincidental meeting in a chat, and the harmless question ‘ shall we do a swap? ’.
Through this first trade we got on like a house on fire. Many useful common contacts have been established and through mutual assistance our own collections expanded quite fast. We learned a lot about the history of the Kinder Surprise Eggs and their contents. We learned about the fact that not everything that seems to be from Kinder Surprise Eggs was really once in an egg. We learned that copied accessories and figurines have been brought out on market- particularly the precious earlier items. And so we had to learn, too, how one can differentiate these falsifications from genuine accessories.
No stamp collector would put a reprinted Blue Mauritius into his album just for “to have". And so a serious Kinder Surprise collector will never place the Gnome’s Carrier with a copied barrow into one’s showcase.
Fortunately a team of experts founded an inspection station (SHS) which is meanwhile accredited by the whole collector’s community. anGan has very good personal contact to the members of this team who provides us in cases of doubt with act and advice.
We love our hobby and we would like to share the joy with many people all over the world. Nobody who begins or is going to complete one’s collection should have fear that a cheap copy or a figurine with 15 year experience in a child’s toys box comes into one’s showcase.
